Society of Mary 75th Anniversary Festival
The Society of Mary celebrated the 75th anniversary
of
its foundation with a
wonderful and memorable festival
service at the historic Anglo-Catholic church
of
Saint Alban the Martyr, Holborn, London EC1
on Sunday 10th September 2006.
The Chaplain-General, Fr Graeme Rowlands
officiated at
Solemn Vespers of Our Lady, at which
His Grace, The Archbishop of Canterbury,
the Most Reverend & Right Honourable Dr Rowan Williams,
presided, preached and gave Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.
He was assisted by The Superior-General and the Bishop of
Edmonton.

The service was followed by a splendid reception in
Saint Alban's Centre at which the Society's 75th Anniversary book, "People,
Places and Things" was officially launched.
The book is a photographic
record drawing on whatever
materials have been available and records a largely
pictorial
history from the foundations of the Society in 1931 through to
events as recent as this year.
